Blockrails LLC, a DIG Holdings company, powered by GA Telesis, LLC, has committed to hosting its technology services with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to become a fully sustainable cloud based application for every industry and community Blockrails™ serves.
AWS is focused on efficiency and continuous innovation across a global infrastructure on a path to powering all AWS operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025.
Blockrails™ strategically moved out of a private enterprise environment to build and host its full platform of services through AWS not only for their cloud capabilities, but in support of their sustainable path for renewable energy and protecting the environment.
Blockrails™ is committed to to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in helping all of us to fix climate change, improve humanity, and playing our role in a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable world.
Supporting this decision are the results of a study by 451 Research™ showing that AWS’s infrastructure is 3.6 times more energy efficient than the median of U.S. enterprise data centers surveyed. AWS data centers are more energy-efficient than enterprise sites due to comprehensive efficiency programs that touch every facet of their facilities.
Blockrails™ is highly scalable, with its FraudBlock™ solution capable of performing millions of transactions daily. While Blockrails™ is but one of the millions of high-performance applications hosted across the world’s greater cloud environment, infrastructure efficiency has fast become a concern in the consumption of energy for everyone.
AWS, through its scale and focus on innovation, can achieve higher resource utilization and energy efficiency than would be possible for the typical on-premises data center, and as such Blockrails™ supports AWS efforts in continuously working on ways to do more.
From building the largest wind farm in rural Texas to supporting women’s empowerment programs for our suppliers in Cambodia, Amazon’s sustainability efforts are occuring around the globe, driving renewable energy to the cloud, supporting our Blockrails™ Sustainability Policies.
According to the 2019 451 Research report, “When we factor in the carbon intensity of consumed electricity and renewable energy purchases, which reduce associated carbon emissions, AWS performs the same task with an 88% lower carbon footprint.” These results align and support Blockrails™ sustainability strategy.
AWS has multiple initiatives underway to use water more efficiently and use less potable (drinking) water to cool their data centers for their clients such as Blockrails™ who have selected AWS for its cloud-based services platform in support of our Sustainability Policies.
Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative (ADSI)
The Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative (ASDI) seeks to accelerate sustainability research and innovation by minimizing the cost and time required to acquire and analyze large sustainability datasets, providing Blockrails™ the support it needs in partnering through AWS to ensure greater sustainability.
Blockrails™ operates in AWS Cloud, supporting their current programs in how to leverage the AWS Cloud to drive better, more sustainable outcomes. In July 2017, AWS joined the U.S. Department of State and the Unreasonable Group to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. By operating our Blockrails™ operations in the AWS Cloud we are proud to be a part of AWS initiatives in supporting renewable energy, climate action, sustainable cities and communities and clean water and sanitation.
As a proud subsidiary of GA Telesis, LLC (“GAT”), DIG Holdings along with Blockrails LLC contribute and support to all sustainability efforts as part of the global organization. In 2021, GA Telesis was awarded ISO 14001 certification reflecting GAT’s recognition of environmental sustainability and commitment to compliance with all relevant necessary regulations at GA Telesis facilities around the globe. The certification process follows standards set by ISO – the International Organization for Standardization – to reduce the effect of global warming and to avert any and all adverse impacts to the global climate.
The ISO implementation took place over a span of six months. Audits were conducted at GAT distribution centers and offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Istanbul, and Taiwan. As a result of this certification, GAT has greatly improved its environmentally sensitive operations by reducing the adverse impact our activities, processes, products, and services have on the environment using a systematic approach embodied in ISO 14001.
AWS SaaS Factory Program
An AWS SaaS Factory Program Partner since 2020, Blockrails™ works within the program network for support with technical and business content, best practices, solution architects, and SaaS experts to help guide and accelerate delivery of our Blockrails™ solutions in AWS, all in support of increased sustainability.
